Product Commission Management

The "Commission Method" label/Field in the Opportunity Product Section is not being used anymore as Users can now define commission structure from the Product Reference Table.

Users can manage and calculate commissions for products and services in 3 ways: Agreed upon percentage per product selling price, a flat amount value per product and base cost - they can choose to use either of the 3, exclusively, on any line item when adding/editing Products.

1. Product Commission Percentage - Please note that the commision percentage should be entered in whole number.

This option allows users to set a flat percentage of the unit price. 

Example: Product Commission is 8.5% (8.5 for Test Product 1)

Test Product 1 $295.00 $25.08 $269.92

2. Product Base Cost

This option allows users to set a base cost for a product where in Unit Price - Product Base Cost = Commission.
Note that for Base Cost Method, user would be allowed to change Product Price. (However, anything below base cost would calculate Base Commission of $0%)

Example: Product Base Cost of Test Product 2 is $350

PRODUCT  UNIT PRICE PRODUCT COMM NET AMOUNT 
Test Product 2 $386.00 $36.00 $350.00

 

 

3. Product Commission

This option allows users to set a Flat rate/dollar amount commission for any product

Example: Product Commission is $30

PRODUCT  UNIT PRICE PRODUCT COMM NET AMOUNT 
Test Product 3 $386.00 $30.00 $356.00

For Product Commission Percentage and Product Commission methods, if the user changes Product Discount or Product Price, the system will not calculate Commission %.

These 3 Commission Labels/Fields should be enabled from the Manage Reference Tables page to be visible in the Opportunity Product Section.
